In the summer of 2010, a generation of young athletes will be the first to experience the blending of high quality sports instruction and the best elements of URJ summer camping, to produce a summer of fun, friends and life-long memories created at 6 Points Sports Academy.
6 Points' campers are athletes, ranging in age from 10-15, who are looking to improve their game, meet new friends, experience summer camp while experiencing Jewish values through sports. During our two week sessions, campers participate in intensive training in a sport major while selecting two other sport electives for cross conditioning. For a well-rounded summer camp experience, campers will also participate in camp activities such as bunk skits, camp fires and sing-a-longs, while living among other athletes, learning sports and life skills from professional coaches and Jewish counselors. A summer at 6 Points is a sports-filled, fun-filled, and infused with Jewish values-to create a summer camp experience unlike any other.
Nestled in the foothills of the magnificent Pocono Mountains in rural Pennsylvania, Camp Harlam provides the finest in recreational and educational activities for Reform Jewish youth. Established in 1958, Camp Harlam has developed a strong tradition of success and excellence based on a highly skilled staff dedicated to the spiritual, physical, social and psychological well-being of each child.
Camp Joseph and Betty Harlam is one of twelve Union for Reform Judaism camps around the country. We opened in 1958 as a small camp whose primary benefactors were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Harlam of Hazelton, PA. Since that time, Harlam has grown to its present size of over 300 acres with the current population of about 550 campers each session and a staff of over 200.
The Camp Harlam Family consists of smaller communities within junior camp, senior camp, and the Counselor-in-Training program. Junior and senior camps are further broken down into coed units based on the age and grade to create a more intimate and age-appropriate experience for our campers.
